    • Weekly EC Updates-Christmas Schedule, Volunteer of the week and MORE!

      Oct 25th

      Stacy Humphrey

Let’s Celebrate!  Meet our Volunteer of the Week, Stacy Humphrey!  Stacy is an Early Childhood Team Leader and member of our Friday Prep Team.  You will always find Stacy faithfully helping Lisa set up the EC rooms every Friday for the weekend experience and leading our purple room team and the 3 year olds every Sunday at the 11am service.  Stacy sets a great example for others to follow.  Thank you, Stacy, the best is yet to come!

Important Updates:  We are 57 days away from our SPECTACULAR Christmas services.  As we get ready for the end-of-year activities, I thought you’d like to know the days and times that were JUST announced this week for Christmas services, 10 in all, plenty of options to invite LOTS of friends and family.

      Saturday, December 21 – 3:45 pm and 5:45 pm

      Sunday, December 22 – 9 am, 11 am and 5:45pm

      Monday, December 23 – 5 pm and 7 pm

      Tuesday, December 24 – 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm

Also, it has been decided that for the weekend of December 28-29, at Orland Park, there will be no Saturday night service and no Sunday night service.  We will have two morning services on Sunday, December 29 at 9 am and 11 am.

Praise report, THANK YOU for all the prayers!   On Tuesday, Lisa explained that I had to take my husband to the ER due to severe abdominal pain.  We found out he had appendicitis.  He had surgery Tuesday afternoon to remove his appendix and everything went well.  Praise the Lord!   The doctor may release him today or tomorrow.  We are very grateful for all the well wishes and prayers.  I’ve been singing it out loud every day…God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Thank you so much for being a part of our AWESOME EC team, sharing your time and CONNECTING with God’s little ones, our Parkview families and team members…it MATTERS.

      YOU are making a difference!

With much love, gratitude and appreciation,

      Jill

Let’s celebrate!  Meet our Volunteer of the Week, Camryn Cozen!  Camryn has been serving in Early Childhood for over a year every other Sunday at 11am in the yellow room.  Camryn is great at welcoming Parkview families at the door and has a servant’s heart.  Her enthusiasm is contagious and it shows as she recently recruited a friend to join our team as well.  Thank you, Camryn, the best is yet to come.

Ever wonder how everything is set up before the weekend?  Would you like a back stage pass to Early Childhood?  Join our EC ‘Prep’ team!  Our EC Prep Team assists Lisa Dorman, Curriculum Coordinator, by preparing classroom supplies and the environment experience for the weekend.  In order to qualify for this team, you need to be available Fridays between the hours of 10:00am-2:00pm.   You are not required to show up every Friday, it could be every other Friday or once a month. Please comment or email me for more details.

I always love to hear stories of how God is using this ministry to touch lives.  If you have a story of how God is stirring something up inside of you or in your EC classroom I hope you’ll take a minute and comment or email me all about it.  I LOVE to hear from you!

Connecting matters…What can you do today to be remembered? People never forget how you make them feel. Do something worthy of WOW! today for someone. I look forward to seeing you soon!

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill

    • Training Videos online! Volunteer of the Week & what’s so important about eye contact?

Posted at 12:01 pm by Stephanie McDonald

      Adrienne Trent

Let’s celebrate!  Meet our Volunteer of the Week, Adrienne Trent!  Adrienne jumped right in when we added the Sunday night 5:45pm service.  You’ll usually find Adrienne in Clubhouse A and she recently advanced as our Service Coach in Early Childhood every Sunday night.  Adrienne is always eager to help and sets a great example for others to follow.  She is a great leader!  Thank you, Adrienne, the best is yet to come!

Our goal this year in Kidz Connection is to make the most of the time we have together each weekend to really CONNECT with our kids, parents, teammates, and most importantly, with God – intentionally, authentically, and heart-to-heart.

We realize everyone has different schedules so if you were unable to attend our annual Kidz Training event last week, we missed you!  Last week we shared some fun, quick 20 second videos about Kidz Connection’s “Dos & Don’ts” check it out TODAY at http://parkviewchurch.com/orlandkidztraining .

If you did not receive your cool new Kidz Connection “CONNECT” t-shirt, we’ll have it for you the next time you serve. The first t-shirt is free, if you need another one we are asking for $5 to help offset the cost.  Thank you for understanding.

      photo (16)

The check-in process is now quick and easy with a key card that you can scan at any check-in kiosk at Parkview.   If you did not receive your key card there will be a desk outside of the Kidz Connection lobby to pick yours up.  If you are already serving in another ministry that same key card will now work for Kidz Connection check-in.

HELP!  We need a few more team members this weekend.  If you are available Saturday, September 14 th for the 3:45pm or Sunday, September 15th for the 5:45pm please let me know right away.  THANK YOU!

Lastly, let’s share one way we can improve HOW we CONNECT.  This week let’s all focus on our eye contact. It’s one of the most important nonverbal channels you have for communication and connecting with other people.  Eyes answer the critical questions when you are trying to connect…Is he/she paying attention to what I’m saying?  Hmmmm….I know this is something I need to work on, how about you?  Let’s all try to be more aware of our eye contact as we go about conversations with people and especially children.

Thank you for being a part of what God is doing at Parkview!!!

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill

We had a RECORD-BREAKING turnout out for our annual Kidz Connection Team Training last Thursday. Thanks to all who were able to attend and helped us make this the best event EVER!

It’s all about “CONNECTING” this year, connecting with God, Parents, Kids and Team Members.

Holly Jo made the homemade desserts for our event (yummy red velvet cake and cheesecake sopapilla) and had this to say, …

“Thank you Kidz Connection for the opportunity to make desserts for your Team Training Event. my thanks and a full heart of gratitude for all that each of you do for the babies & children as you draw them to a close relationship with Christ. You lead by example … my prayer is that you continue to be the light … the hands … and feet of Jesus as they grow into that relationship that they then can bring others to Him as they know Him! THANK YOU!!! God’s Blessings & much love always!” Holly Jo Johnson

I realize everyone has different schedules and some were unable to attend the event last Thursday night.  Below is part of the packet of information we handed out to everyone.  With an expected hike in attendance this fall, we are thrilled to now have an organizational chart and job descriptions to help everyone better identify their very important role within the ministry.

5 WAYS TO THINK LIKE A CHAMPION

Some of our time last Thursday was spent in small group discussion talking about what’s working, what’s not working and what’s confusing in Early Childhood.  If you have feedback on that and would like to share please email me directly. I love to hear from YOU!

Also, if you were unable to attend and did not receive your new key card for checking in, there is a desk set up outside the Kidz Connection entrance area for you to pick up your new key card.

New T-shirts were handed out last week too!  If you did not receive yours we’ll have it for you the next time you serve. The first t-shirt is free, if you need another one we are asking for $5 to help offset the cost.  Thank you for understanding.

We are looking forward to the launch of a new season and THANK YOU for your dedication to God’s little ones!!!

“Hi Jill, I have two cute kid sightings from today to share with you. A little boy with a Mohawk,I think he’s a 3  was out walking around a picnic table in the west lot loudly singing “Ho Ho Hosanah…” He was smiling and having a great time. After 11:00 church two girls were walking to the parking lot singing “He lifts me up…”  How fun to know the songs are in their hearts and going home:) Have a great week, Evie:)”
