      Eileen Hawkins 2

      LET’S CELEBRATE!

Meet our Volunteer of the Week, Eileen Hawkins!  Eileen is a Team Leader and has been serving in Early Childhood for over 4 years.  You’ll find her in Clubhouse B every other Saturday at 5:45pm.  She is dedicated to creating an inviting atmosphere so every child feels welcomed. Eileen is very patient, tons of fun and is an inspiration to all that are around her.  Thank you, Eileen, the best is yet to come!

We are overflowing with children!  Last weekend we had 426 children, the highest number of kids for us this year, visit our ‘Backyard’.  Praise God! Thank you for serving faithfully so all children have an opportunity to hear about Jesus.

Spring is almost here!!!  Please look ahead to April and May and make sure you have your serve dates marked on your calendar.  It’s extremely helpful to give us a few weeks notice if you have a scheduling conflict.  Also, if you request a sub please try and be a sub for someone so it all balances out.

Next month, we will have 10 Easter service at the Orland campus.  Please feel free to ask your friends and family if they’d like to serve with you, we LOVE it when you bring a friend. The more the merrier!  Please try and notify your coach or myself before the service if at all possible. Thanks!

Here’s 10 reasons people should serve in Children’s Ministry.

      1. We were created to serve. (Ephesians 2:10)

      2. Jesus modeled serving for us. (Mark 10:45)

      3. Kids are the greatest mission field. (Matthew 9:37)

      4. God blesses people who serve in children’s ministry. (Matthew 10:42)

      5. Jesus ministered to children. (Mark 10:13-15)

      6. Easier to build boys than repair men.

      7. Serving help us get connected to other people.  Service creates community.

      8. God uses children to reach parents.

      9.  Serving brings glory to God. (1 Peter 4:11)

      10. Kids are the most receptive to the Gospel.

*From Relevant Children’s Ministry blog post 3/5/14

Thank you again for your faithfulness to serve at Parkview Christian Church.  I hope you experience a deep joy from using your gifts and serving the local church.  Take good care of you and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Our Team Makes a World of Difference!

Did you know, research shows  people decide in 8 minutes if they will return to a new place during their first visit.  We are experiencing phenomenal growth, praise God!  YOU are changing lives!   We had another record-breaking weekend with 1,111 children attending Parkview Kids last weekend, of that 408 were in our “Backyard”.

Marie Epley, our First Impressions Coordinator, told me last weekend  she was walking back to our area with a dad who was returning for the second time and he said his son was SO excited to receive a postcard in the mail after their first visit.  That is a HUGE win for us, GREAT job everyone our visitor postcards are appreciated!

As we continue to grow, we need to continually add team members.

When was the last time you asked someone to join our team or try out volunteering with you?

      Ask them THIS WEEK.

Put your arm around someone, ask them if they are serving anywhere and invite them  to join you in making a difference for Christ.

Let’s celebrate!  Meet our volunteer of the week…Bonnie Blazevich!

      Bonnie Blazevich

Bonnie faithfully serves every Sunday at 9:00am.  You’ll often find Bonnie welcoming families at the door and helping the three year olds get ready for an  irresistible experience in the blue room.  She is a joy to work with and puts her whole heart into caring for the children.  She is a dedicated and great leader!  Thank you, Bonnie, the best is yet to come!

This weekend we need more help on Saturday, March 15 at 3:45pm and Sunday, March 16th at 9am & 11am.  We need at least three more adults at these services.  If you can come play with us please let me know or go ahead and add yourself into the schedule. THANK YOU.

Make it a great week and I look forward to seeing you soon.

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill Shea

      EXCITING NEWS!

We had 63 new families come through our Parkview kids area in the month of  February. Praise God!

We now have a NEW visitor postcard for our backyard (3s and 4s rooms) and clubhouses (preK & K).  These new postcards are located on the counter in all six of our classrooms.  This is a tool for you to write an encouraging note to all new children in your class (you can tell because they have a green name tag).

If you don’t have any new children in your class, use the opportunity to write a postcard to a child you want to encourage.  Please try and write at least one postcard to a child in your class.  Huddle with your team members and ask someone to prepare the card.  All I need is for you to print on the back right side of the postcard the first and last of the child.  Then write your note on the left side and sign your names.  I will make sure it is addressed, stamped and mailed during the week.  THANK YOU for taking the time to write to a child.

Here’s 3 important items you need to know:

      1.  Welcome March!  Warmer weather is sure to be coming soon.  Hang in there!   If you are serving Sunday PLEASE remember we spring ahead one hour Sunday morning.

Here are two important items I want you to know :

    • Making HIStory Together

Posted at 1:54 pm by Stephanie McDonald
      Feb 19th

      2014-ValentinesDay

I am honored to serve with you at Parkview Christian Church and be a part of HIStory together. I love getting to watch how He is working through you and our team as we create a place for people to connect with Jesus.    Some of the many ways I see you showing you  care is when I see you greeting the families with a huge smile and listening to the children  and encourage their creativity.   Thank you for making our “Backyard” an irresistible environment!

Here is important information I want you to know:

YOUR SCHEDULE: Our online scheduler is live with your serve dates through the end of April.  PLEASE mark your calendar or set up a reminder for the dates and times for your very important role.  We kindly ask that if you need to request a sub that you then consider picking up a sub request so everything balances out.   If you are on our ‘Sub’ team, PLEASE fill in when you can, we need YOU.  Our biggest need for more team members is Sundays at 11am and then Saturdays at 3:45pm.  Thank you! https://parkviewec.wordpress.com/link-to-online-schedule/

CURRICULUM ONLINE:  If you are on the schedule this weekend or next weekend, please do your best to review the activities BEFORE you come in.  Lisa will be on vacation this weekend and next weekend.   She has everything posted online for your convenience and it will also be on the cabinets if you want to come in extra early to review.   Thank you!  Click here and then scroll down  or click on ‘curriculum’ under categories on our team blog. https://parkviewec.wordpress.com/category/curriculum/

Let’s Celebrate!  Meet our Volunteer of the Week, John Tyler!

      John Tyler 3

John started serving last  October and he jumped right in!  John shows his compassion and love for the children every Sunday at 11am.   He loves the kids and his energy is contagious as he works hard every week to make sure everyone has the best experience.  He is a great leader and we are so grateful to have him on our team!  Thank you, John, the best is yet to come!

I look forward to seeing our ‘backyard’ team soon.  Thank you for being a part of what God is doing at Parkview!

      We love our team

      You Make It Possible

We had a FANTASTIC time “Connecting” with each other at our “We Love Our Team” parties this past weekend!  A BIG thank you to Cindy Brushaber who created the flyer, invite, decorations and came in early to set up the party room.  Also, THANK YOU to ALL who brought food, plates and napkins for our potluck party.  We could not have done this without you, our team ROCKS!!

For those who were unable to attend, the surprise announcement was made by Curriculum Coordinator, Lisa Dorman. Starting the second weekend in March the lesson plan will go for two weeks instead of having a new lesson each week.  This will give the families more time to discuss the lesson with their children and the children will be able to absorb that lesson better with repetition.  The craft will continue to be different each week.  You will continue to have 5 – 6 activities to choose from, then if you do not get to them all you’ll have the second week of the lesson to complete any activities that you were unable to do the previous week.  We are SUPER excited to try this out and look forward to hearing your feedback when this new system starts next month!

It really helps when you are able to review the activities before the weekend, Lisa has everything conveniently posted on our blog click here .

Let’s Celebrate!  This week instead of putting the spotlight on one volunteer of the week, let’s celebrate our entire team and showcase everyone from our team parties this past weekend.  YOU are making a difference.     We Love Our Team!

1 Corinthians 12:18 says, “But now God has placed the members, each of them, in the body, just as He desired.”   God has gifted you to serve a specific role and I love seeing you use your gifts and talents to build up the local church!

Here are 2 things I wanted you to know and hear first:

      Mike McPhail and Stefanie Daniels

      Let’s Celebrate!

Meet our Volunteers of the Week, Mike McPhail and Stefanie Daniels!  Mike and Stefanie joined our Early Childhood team almost a year ago and serve every other Saturday at 3:45pm in Clubhouse A.  In addition to leading the children they have a commitment to excellence and it shows in everything they do.  They set a great example for others to follow.  Thank you, Mike and Stefanie, the best is yet to come!

SUPER BOWL Sunday is NEXT weekend Sunday, February 2nd.  Pastor Tim announced last weekend there is no Sunday 5:45pm service on February 2nd.  Instead the third service for that day only is at 1:00pm.  If you normally serve at the Sunday 5:45pm you are now on the schedule at 1:00pm.  If you are not available in the afternoon and need a sub please update your schedule as soon as possible.  Thank you so much!

Two weeks ago we had a record number of children in our area at the 11am service. Praise God!  The Sunday 11am service is our busiest service so if you serve at 9am or 11am please use the Parkview shuttle to open up parking spaces for all our new families.  It’s super easy and convenient!  Park your car at Horton’s (down the street east of Parkview) and the shuttle bus runs constantly from 7:30am-1:30pm every Sunday and will drop you off at the east doors.

Thank you so much for your dedication to God’s little ones.  We can’t do this without YOU!

      BIG hugs and much love,

      signs at Parkview

      Hi Team!

I love all the signs we have at Parkview.  With last weekend’s services, we hit an all-time high with the number of children in Early Childhood at our 11am service last Sunday (over 30 children in both of our Clubhouses WOWSER!) and we had 1,097 children total for the entire weekend.  I say it every day and I’ll say it again, God is AMAZING!!!!

We have a BIG need for more team members THIS SATURDAY, January 18th at the 3:45pm service AND Sunday, January 19th at the 11:00am and 5:45pm.  If you can help PLEASE click here and add yourself in the schedule.  We need YOU.

Please remember you will not receive a separate reminder email from me when you are scheduled to serve. I trust that everyone is aware of their scheduled time to serve. You may still receive reminder emails from your coaches.

We are continuing to ask Parkview attendees this weekend to ‘Just Try It’ and volunteer so we should have more team members to help with our increase in children but in the meantime we really need more helping hands this weekend.

Myself and Lisa Dorman will be at a Children’s Ministry Conference this week along with other members of our Children’s Ministry Department at Parkview.  We are SUPER excited to learn what other church’s are doing and to learn how we can be the best that we can be for God’s little ones and our Parkview families.

This week let’s celebrate ALL our wonderful Volunteers of the Week for the past year.  Please click on this link to see a snapshot from the past twelve months: https://parkviewec.wordpress.com/meet-the-ec-team-volunteers-of-the-week/ .

Please pray for the children in your class and your weekend team members.  Review weekly curriculum and activities, it really shows the children how important they are to us when we are prepared.   https://parkviewec.wordpress.com/category/curriculum/

I am so grateful for each and every one of you and look forward to making 2014 our best year yet. Go TEAM!

I read a great article today about Keeping Life Simple that I thought you might enjoy:

“Jesus is our help and peace in stressful times. Are you glad you don’t have to face life alone when things get complicated? Here’s what the Word says in Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.” Not only was Jesus called the Prince of Peace; He is our Prince of Peace. John 14:27 says: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

If you would like to read the entire article click here.

May God ignite fresh faith in you today! May you pray with clarity, precision, and power. May you stand on His Word and hold fast to His promises.

      BIG hugs and much love,
