Let’s Celebrate!  This past weekend we put the spotlight on our Garden/Nursery Team Member…Hannah Noxon!

      hannah noxon

Hannah serves every Sunday at 5:45pm in our one-year olds room.  She has been serving since   2011!!  Hannah is dedicated and hardworking, she is always going above and beyond for her team and the children.  Hannah has an amazing ability to connect with each and every person on the team and children and families who visit the nursery.  ALL the one year olds vie for her attention when she’s around!  Hannah has a huge heart for serving others and she shines in the nursery!  Thank you Hannah, the best is yet to come!

BIG news!  New service times starting NEXT MONTH.

We are going to drop down to ONE Saturday service (temporary for summer months) effective Saturday, May 16th, until the week after Labor Day (with the exception of Father’s day weekend).  This one Saturday service time will be at 5:30pm starting.  If you serve at 345 or 545 on Saturdays, you will automatically convert to the 5:30pm time effective May 16th.

We will also change the Sunday night service time from 5:45pmto 5:30pm effective May 17th.

To recap, starting May 16/17 we will have a new service times on Saturday and Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm.

Our online scheduler will reflect the new times.

When we add back in the 3:45 pm Saturday service for Father’s day and in the fall, we will keep the 5:30 pm service time for both Saturday and Sunday. This will be a permanent change.

THANK YOU so much for being a part of our Early Childhood TEAM!

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill Shea

      Ken Fregeau

      Let’s Celebrate!

Meet Volunteer of the Week…Ken Fregeau

Ken has been a Backyard team member since September 2014.  He faithfully serves every Sunday at  11am in the green room.  Ken is always ready to reach out and help others.  He does a fantastic job  leading our 4 year olds and sets a great example for others to follow.  Thank you, Ken, the best is yet to  come!

THANK YOU again for your amazing hard work and dedication.  We had another fabulous Parkview holiday!   Everything ran smooth for our 10 Easter services and more importantly 17,000 people were able to  hear about surrender and the glorious news that Sunday is here.

In addition, we have 949 children birth-kindergarten attend our Parkview Kids program over the past few days AND we had 31 NEW families. Praise God!

We’ve also had tons of positive feedback from our new Easter volunteers.  Here is just one of many encouraging notes that show YOU are making a difference with not only the children and families but also the people who serve alongside you.

“I absolutely loved my time serving at Parkview. Each and every time I go to Parkview I feel whole and volunteering definitely took it to the next level and I didn’t even know that was possible! I’d love to continue volunteering. Thank YOU for giving me that opportunity!!”  Rachel J.

Lastly, I encourage you to take a five minutes break and view the below video.  It’s about Sonja Romero, a Kindergarten teacher, who has a heart with no boundaries.  She is giving everything she has and is changing lives.  I pray it will bless and inspire you as you minister to God’s little ones.

I look forward to seeing YOU soon!  Thank you for being a part of our Early Childhood TEAM.

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill Shea

    • Important two-letter word, Volunteer of the Week + Easter Update

Posted at 3:04 pm by Stephanie McDonald
      Mar 19th

      Bonnie Terry

Let’s Celebrate!  Meet of our Volunteer of the Week…Bonnie Terry!

Bonnie is a Garden Team Leader in Twos A room every other Saturday at 5:45pm.  She has been serving since April 2014. Although Bonnie is scheduled to serve every other week, she is always popping in to offer up help weekly and at multiple services!  Bonnie does an incredible job connecting with team members, families, and children.  Bonnie instantly brings up the energy in the room the minute she walks in.  Her smile and energy are contagious!  She is a great example of a dedicated leader.  Thank you Bonnie, the best is yet to come!

Our 10 Easter services kick-off in 14 days…hip, hip, hooray!

Last year we had over 16,000 people come through our doors for an Easter service.  WOWSER!!!!!!
We are expecting that number to grow this year.

Please review and double check our online scheduler for your serve dates and times.  If you need to request a sub, please do so as soon as possible.   If you do not have any services, please go ahead and plug yourself in to the schedule. We need YOU!

      EASTER SERVICE TIMES:
      Thurs. April 2nd      7:00pm
      Friday April 3rd       5:00pm & 7:00pm
      Saturday April 4th  1:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:00pm & 7:00pm
      Sunday April 5th     8:30am, 10:30am & 12:30pm

There’s a small word that has a BIG impact when you use it while serving…the word “we”.  You will find people will connect with you better when you intentionally use the word “we”.  The word “we” is very small and dynamic.  When “we” are working together to serve families and God’s little ones everyone comes together.  There is no letter ‘I’ in the word team.  We = team .

Here we GROW!  THANK YOU for being a part of what God is doing at Parkview.  You are more than you know!

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill Shea

      encouragement

I am so grateful for everyone on our team making a difference in our Children’s Ministry.  THANK YOU for making a difference in the world!

This is a good week for us all to remember the power of our words.  Please continue to speak words of encouragement to the children, parents and fellow team members.  Encouragement is oxygen for the soul!

Let’s Celebrate!  Meet Volunteer of the Week…Gabrielle Robinson!

      Gabrielle Robinson

Gabrielle started serving in the Early Childhood Backyard over a year ago. She loved it so much she decided to continue serving every week at the 9:00am service in Clubhouse B.  Gabrielle is very reliable, a self-starter, kind, patient and does a phenomenal job leading activities and working with the team. Thank you, Gabrielle, the best is yet to come!”

Friendly reminder, you can always find the fun-filled activities and worship music that Lisa Dorman puts together on our blog under the curriculum category.

Final thought for this week… when you take a child by the hand, you take a parent by the heart.  Reach a child and you will reach their parents.

It takes over 175 team members every weekend for all of our Early Childhood rooms to be open for the Parkview families.  We can’t do this without YOU.  THANK YOU again for sharing your time, talent and energy!

      BIG hugs and much love,

      Jill Shea

      KIDZ_EC_MemoryVerse_Feb2014March 2015 Memory Verse Motions - Blog

Jesus tells us to “love each other.” What does that even look like? Well, it looks a lot like the way Jesus loved people when He was here on earth. Through everything He did and the stories He told, Jesus taught us to love each other. That’s why we’re telling these specific Bible lessons this month. We want to teach our children to love like Jesus. We’ll start with a story Jesus told, a parable. The first two weeks (March Weeks 1 and 2) has preschoolers hearing about the widow’s mite and how they can share (love) even when they have very little.

The next two lessons are from the life of Jesus that prepare us for the Easter message coming in April. They will hear how Jesus, the Son of God, washed the feet of His disciples (March Weeks 3 and 4). Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He still served those around Him. We want our preschoolers to know that we too can serve those around us, no matter who they are. We’ll end with the joyous celebration of Palm Sunday (March Week 5).   As Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, He was preparing for the ultimate act of love. He truly exemplified the verse, “love each other.” We pray that through this month’s lessons, our preschoolers learn to love like Jesus.

The Monthly Memory verse is “Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12, NIV

The Bottom Line is I can love like Jesus.

    • Door greeters, welcoming environment & Volunteer of the Week!

Posted at 4:03 pm by Stephanie McDonald
      Mar 5th

      Alicia Hernandez

Let’s Celebrate!  Meet our Volunteer of the Week, Alicia Hernandez!  Alicia is a Team Leader in the Garden’s Two year old room every Sunday at 9:00 am.  She has been serving since July 2012. Alicia is a team player and goes above and beyond every single week. Alicia is dedicated to serving and connecting with those she is serving and serving with! She leads the room with ease and is always willing to help in any way she can.  Thank you Alicia, the best is yet to come!

Let’s Connect!  Can you remember how it felt the last time you met a roomful of people for the first time?  Recalling those feelings will  help you know how stressful the first day of class can be for a young child (and their parent).  There are, however, some ways to help our Parkview families feel welcomed and know “This is a good place to be!”

Let’s Contribute to a welcoming environment!  We must always make sure we have an adult team member at the door to greet our parents and children.  We will never get a second chance to make a first impression.  Your friendly, warm and welcoming smile makes a HUGE difference.

Attitude.  Our Parkview families like to see people who are positive, upbeat, confident, cheerful, friendly and willing to help.  We need to leave our personal problems at home and give children our undivided attention.  Let’s continue to establish an atmosphere of TRUST and LOVE that makes the parents and children want to return.

We had 25 NEW FAMILIES last weekend, praise God!!!!

THANK YOU for your dedication to God’s little ones and being the best that you can be.  I look forward to seeing you this weekend!

    • Consolidation Update, Volunteer of the Week and MORE! …

Posted at 10:26 am by Stephanie McDonald
      Feb 26th

Now and Later from Dale Hudson on Vimeo.

We are THRILLED to see how God is moving in Parkview’s Children’s Ministry!  This is the first week we get to consolidate our two teams the Garden (Nursery) and Backyard (Preschool/Kindergarten).  Welcome everyone!

Lisa Dorman and myself started working in the nursery years ago and we are super excited about now being one team and unified!

“The first five years of a child’s life are the most formative.  Much of what a person becomes is developed during this time with the first three years being the most critical.  The above one minute video is a great reminder  that when you minister to children you will see fruit NOW in their lives and LATER when they are adults.

Researchers said though personality plays a big role in how kids turn out as adults…they also documented that life events are also a major determining factor.

As a children’s ministry team member, we have the unique privilege of influencing children at the most important time in their life.  What you teach them will not only make a difference in their lives now, but will stay with them for the rest of their lives.  You are helping shape their future!”

Let’s CONNECT!  We have a private Facebook group for our team which is a fantastic way for us to get to know one another better.  Our Parkview EC Facebook group is a for volunteers on the Early Childhood Team at Parkview (birth through Kindergarten).  The ‘EC’ Team ROCKS!  This is a safe place to share, grow in our faith, encourage, laugh and build relationships. Let’s grow and prosper according to God’s word.  Friend me up at http://facebook.com/jillashea and include a note that you are on our team so I can add you to our private FB group.

As we get to know one another better, let’s ENCOURAGE each other and CELEBRATE what each of you are doing for His kingdom.  Every week we put the spotlight on one of our AWESOME team members.  We will now rotate every week between the Backyard and Garden team members.

Let’s CELEBRATE!  Meet this week’s Volunteer of the Week…Kevin Fox!

      Kevin Fox

Kevin joined our team almost two years ago and serves faithfully every Sunday in the Backyard at 11:00am and recently added a second service and now also serves at 9:00am.   He is reliable, helpful and willing to go above and beyond.  He started out serving in the four year old room and now serves outside the classroom assisting our coaches and coordinators by making sure all six of our Backyard classrooms are equipped and organized with their supplies.  He will assist our coaches and coordinators with any requests.  He is kind, patient and willing to do whatever it takes to help.  We are so grateful to have him on our team.  Thanks Kevin, the best is yet to come!

Our team blog ( http://www.parkviewEC.wordpress.com ) is our home base and a place where you will find everything for Early Childhood.  Feel free to browse around!  Lisa Dorman is very organized.  She creates and puts all the children’s activities and worship music in our curriculum category .  It’s available 24/7.  Thanks Lisa!!!

If you have any questions please contact your department’s Coordinator.  All our contact information can be found by clicking on this link  https://parkviewec.wordpress.com/about/ .

We are THRILLED to be a part of what God is doing at Parkview and for the opportunity for us all to work together.  It is an honor and privilege to serve you.

      Here we GROW!

      BIG hugs and much love,

    • Reflections, 2 year anniversary & volunteer of the week!

Posted at 2:46 pm by Stephanie McDonald
      Feb 19th

Let’s celebrate!  Meet Volunteer of the Week…Meredith Brody!

Meredith BrodyMeredith is a Team Leader in Clubhouse B every Sunday at 11:00am.  She has been serving since August 2014.  Meredith is a team player and goes above and beyond by also helping with our large group activities.  Meredith always shows up ready to connect with the team and lead the children with a bright smile.  Her energy is contagious!  She is a great example of a dedicated leader.  Thank you Meredith, the best is yet to come!

It’s our two-year anniversary for our Sunday night 5:45 service!  We’ll be celebrating with a pizza party at 5:00pm for our Sunday night team.  We are also in need of two more adults for this Sunday night, February 22nd.  If you are available please let me know and come on in.  The more the merrier!

      Reflections, thought for this week…

“Dee-liberations from Delia” – Consider each child as a quilt.  The parts of a quilt are gathered from various places, some new and some old.  Each piece has its own characteristic.  And each piece goes into making the whole design of the quilt.  Many people and events make up the child you teach. Respect that heritage and let your time with the child become a part of the beautiful binding. (From Ready, Set, Teach! by Delia Halverson)

I look forward to seeing YOU soon!  THANK YOU for your dedication to leading God’s little ones.

“You are the light of the world.  A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:14-16

      BIG hugs and much love,
