    • March 2018 – Jesus is #1

Posted at 10:00 am by pcclisadorman
      Feb 26th

Happy Easter! It’s time to celebrate that Jesus is alive! He went away, but He came back! Yay, Jesus!

Remember, this Easter could be the very first time EVER for some of the preschoolers at our church to hear the true story of Easter. And for others, this could be their first time ever even going to church. We have the awesome opportunity to tell them for the first time about how Jesus washed His disciples’ feet (March Weeks 1 and 2); made His triumphal entry (March Weeks 3 and 4); and died and rose again (All Easter Services).

We get to tell them the true story of how much God loves them and how He gave them His only Son. We get to tell them that Jesus is alive, and He wants to be their friend forever. We have one of the best jobs in the world! We get to share with preschoolers that Jesus is the best! What an honor and a privilege.

BIBLE STORY: Washing Feet – John 13:3-17

      March Weeks 1 and 2 – March 3, 4, 10, 11

In this week’s lesson, Jesus washed His friends’ dirty feet as a way of saying, ‘I love you.’  We can love our friends like Jesus did.  All we have to do is look for ways to help them.

BIBLE STORY: Palm Sunday – Matthew 21:1-16

      March Weeks 3 and 4 – March 17, 18, 24, 25

In this week’s lesson, the people in Jerusalem praised Jesus by waving palm leaves and shouting, ‘Hosanna, Hosanna.’  We can praise Jesus too!  It doesn’t matter how old we are or where we are, we can always praise Jesus.

      BIBLE STORY: Easter – Matthew 26:20-30; 27:45-50; 28:1-7

      EASTER services – March 29 – April 1

In this week’s lesson, Jesus promised He would come back.  And after three days, Jesus did come back. Jesus kept His promise.  He’s Alive!  God sent Jesus to be my friend and your friend forever.

    • January and February 2018 – Watch This

Posted at 10:00 am by pcclisadorman
      Dec 31st

Preschoolers love showing us what they can do. They are full of WATCH THIS moments. And it can be anything – turning in a circle, running and jumping on a pile of pillows, curtseying like a princess, or my favorite, making their eyebrows go up and down. I love it when they learn how to do that. Their facial expressions are hilarious!

Pretty much anything a preschooler can do falls into the WATCH THIS category, simply because they think anything they learn how to do deserves a WATCH THIS moment.

This month we’re going to run with that theme and the words ‘WATCH THIS!’ will be said… A LOT!  We want to invite preschoolers to WATCH THIS as we do a few impressive things so we can lead them to the ONE who can do ANYTHING!

The goal for this month is to learn that Jesus is the one to watch, because JESUS CAN DO ANYTHING!

BIBLE STORY: Catching Fish – Luke 5:1-7

      • January Week 1 and 2 – January 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th

We’ll begin the month talking about the time Jesus caught all of those fish after Peter caught nothing. Can you imagine Jesus saying, ‘Hey Peter! Watch this!’ as He pulled up the net filled with fish? Jesus can do things we can’t. Peter wasn’t able to catch fish on his own. But, with Jesus, his nets were filled! Only Jesus can do that! Jesus can do anything.

BIBLE STORY: Walking on Water – Matthew 14:22-33

      • January Week 3 and 4 – January 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th

Or, how about the time Jesus walked on water. That was definitely a WATCH THIS moment! Jesus can do what is impossible. I can’t walk on water. Can you? Can your preschoolers? No. We can’t. It’s impossible for us. But, nothing is impossible for Jesus. Jesus can do anything.

      BIBLE STORY: Feeding 5,000 – Mark 6:31-44

      • February Weeks 1 and 2 – February 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th

Then, there’s the time Jesus fed over 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish. Can you imagine the look on the disciples’ faces as they watched the food keep coming and coming and coming and then as they picked up the leftovers? Nothing is too hard for Jesus. Feeding all those people seemed an impossible task for the disciples. But, nothing is too hard for Jesus to do. Jesus can do anything.

BIBLE STORY: Water to Wine – John 2:1-11

      • February Weeks 3 and 4 – February 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th

We’ll end the month with Jesus doing something else only He can do – turning water into wine, or as we like to call it in preschool world, ‘Super Fancy Party Drink.’ Preschoolers may not know what wine is, but they know it’s a fancy party when you’ve got juice boxes or punch. Preschoolers love watching water turn into super fancy party drink. Only, we have to use drink powder to make it happen. Jesus did it all by Himself because Jesus can do anything.

You’re going to have a lot of little eyes on you this month watching and learning. We have an awesome opportunity to direct those eyes to the One worthy of watching – the One who truly can do anything – the One who wants to be their friend forever. And hey, who wouldn’t want a friend who can do anything?

    • November and December – Special Delivery

Posted at 10:00 am by pcclisadorman
      Nov 20th

Can you believe it’s that time of year again? Time to decorate, bake cookies, buy gifts, sing carols. And, in our world, it’s time to teach preschoolers the true story of Christmas—the story of when God gave us Jesus—the best gift ever!

Every year, the story is the same. God sends an angel to tell Mary the good news. Jesus is born. The angels tell the shepherds. And, once they see baby Jesus, they tell everyone! Then the wise men come and worship God’s Son.

If we’re not careful, we can easily forget that the story we’ve heard a million times is brand new for many of the preschoolers who will be hearing for the first time this year. The story we get to share with preschoolers this time of year is so special that we need tell it with excitement and wonder so that our children are excited about it too! We want to tell the true story of Christmas in a way that communicates to preschoolers that Jesus really is the best gift ever! He’s a very special delivery!

BIBLE STORY:  The Angel and Mary Luke 1:26-33, 38, 46-49

      November Week 4 – November 25th/26th

We will start with learning how Mary heard the good news that Jesus was on the way. We’ll hear how an angel came and told Mary that she was going to have a baby, and His name would be Jesus!

BIBLE STORY:  Jesus Is Born Luke 2:1-7

      December Week 1 – December 2nd/3rd

Next, we’ll hear how Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem and baby Jesus was born! It’s the most exciting part of the Christmas story. Jesus is born in a stable on that very first Christmas night.

BIBLE STORY: The Shepherds Luke 2:8-20

      December Week 2 – December 9th/10th

Our Savior came in a very quiet way. In fact, the first people to hear of His birth were some shepherds out in a field. Can you imagine how those shepherds felt that night? Our preschoolers will hear how a whole host of angels shared the awesome news that Jesus had been born with shepherds in the field. The shepherds hurried to see baby Jesus and then rushed to tell others all about Him.

BIBLE STORY: The Wise Men Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11

      December Week 3 – December 16th/17th

Then, our preschoolers will hear the final element of the Christmas story—the journey of the Wise Men to worship Jesus. Our preschoolers will hear of the special star that guided the Wise Men to Jesus’s home and learn of the gifts they brought. It doesn’t have to be Christmas Day to celebrate Jesus. We can celebrate Him all year long.

BIBLE STORY – Happy Birthday Jesus!

      Christmas Services – December 21st – December 24th

Finally, we will celebrate at all Christmas Services with Birthday Party for Jesus! Preschoolers will review the entire Christmas story and celebrate Jesus’s birth!

    • October and November – Hand in Hand

Posted at 10:30 am by pcclisadorman
      Oct 23rd

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of our friends! Because, without you we couldn’t do what we do! And what are we doing these weeks leading up to Thanksgiving? I’m so glad you asked!  We’re helping preschoolers learn to say thank you for the people who help them. And there are a lot of people who help preschoolers!

There’s family for sure. I mean family is like at the top of the list! I think Moses was super thankful to have his brother Aaron there to help him! (Aaron Helps Moses – October 28th/29th and November 4th/5th)  Then, there are the people in their community, like teachers and doctors and people like you!  You give them smiles, hugs, time and best of all, God’s true stories! We need all kinds of people to help us! Nehemiah would have gotten nowhere building that wall without his community of helpers! (Nehemiah Builds a Wall – November 11th/12th and 18th/19th)

Yes, preschoolers need help, tons and tons of help. And this month you are going to help your preschoolers learn to say thank you when they get all of this help.  We want our preschoolers to grow up with eyes that see the people who help them and a heart that says thanks. That’s the goal this month.  Let’s do this – church and parents and kids – all HAND IN HAND helping on another!

      October Week 4 and November Week 1 – October 28th, 29th and November 4th, 5th

      November Weeks 2 and 3 – November 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th
